As they know English, they are not thief.

After the independence of Bangladesh, there were lots of foreign funds to distribute among the poor of Bangladesh. At that time government of Bangladesh used to use the members and chairmen of Union Parishad to distribute the reliefs among the poor. As all of us know, at that time there were no plenty of NGOs like now to depend on. The members and chairmen of Union Parishad used to take the wheat, fund, tin etc for their own interest. That is why the members and chairmen of Union Parishad are not being trusted by the donors like before and they have been stigmatized as 'Wheat Thief' as well.

Now a days, the donors are no more depending on the members and chairmen of Union Parishad. Instead of that, they are relying on the NGO directors, who are literate, knows English well and can write nice proposals in English. The NGO directors are crying for the poor people and writing more and more nice proposals day and night and they loiter donor to donor for seeking funds. The irony is that, I have never seen any donor funded NGO Executive Director without a air conditioned car. I have written in my another article, 'Does philanthropy demand air conditioned car?'

I have had a look on the executive directors of 50 donor funded NGOs in Bangladesh. All of the executive directors have air conditioned car in 50% of the said cases the executive directors own air conditioned car. I have found 7 executive directors who were to do service in another NGO only for 5000 to 20000 BDT salary 10 to 20 years ago.

From where they have found so much money? The main fact is, they know English, they can satisfy the representative of the donors by telling and reporting in English. They write nice proposals, they face the donor representatives, speak in English and above all they are not illiterate like the members and chairmen of Union Parishad. So, they are not thief.

The above mentioned picture is in almost all of the NGOs in Bangladesh. Exception is there; that may not exceed 2%. If anybody thinks that this article is from any kind of tendency to humiliate the NGO sector of Bangladesh, please communicate with me. I will show minimum 10 donor based renowned NGO leaders of Bangladesh who had less than 10% of their present property before starting the NGO. Please note that, challenge fee is USD 200.00 which should be deposited my neteller account: exp2opi@gmail.com. If I fail to show, I am ready to accept any sort of punishment under Bangladeshi law.
