There are more than 5000 active NGOs registered with NGO Bureau of Bangladesh. If we divide the number of NGOs by the number of districts we can get almost there are 70 to 80 NGOs per district. That means there should be more than 10 NGOs in a thana (sub-district). All the NGOs are established with a view to serve the poor, serve the nation and serve the humanity as an overall goal. So, there are philanthropist and philanthropist in all over the Bangladesh.
All the NGO executives are very much expert in English and they write nice and nicer proposals to the donors crying for the humanity, crying for the poor. I have another article related to this, 'Poverty: Curse or Blessing?'. Poverty of Bangladesh is not a curse at least for these NGO executives. They are maintaining a luxurious life by selling this poverty to the kind-hearten donors. They are crying for the poor but they cannot come to their office without a air conditioned car, they goes for site visit with air-conditioned car. They drink bottled water, they take highest salary, they take air-conditioned car but all of those are from the donor fund. Why they take these? Because, they are philanthropist (!).
Dear readers, in all of my articles I am repeatedly writing, there is exception. Some NGO leaders are just begging for the common people of Bangladesh and they are not even availing the CNG. They are exception and the number of them may not exceed 2%. If anybody challenge me or protest me or have any comments on this article please email me at exp2opi@gmail.com or kharappararchele@gmail.com I have random data of 60 NGO executive directors who have bought air-conditioned car from the NGO fund or donor funded project. Please there is an expenditure for data collection. So, if you want to challenge me, please deposit tk. 20,000/- at my account.
